Slicer Settings Helper
Pick material, nozzle and goal – and get starting values for temperature, layer height, speed, fan and retraction.
Recommended starting values
How to use the values
The values are starting points for Bambu Studio, PrusaSlicer, OrcaSlicer, Cura and others. Enter them in your filament and process profile, then use a temperature tower, flow test and retraction test to find what your printer really needs.
Speed is calculated from the material's maximum volumetric flow: speed = flow ÷ (layer height × line width). Thicker layers or wider lines therefore mean lower speed at the same flow.
Your hotend and extruder may differ from these guidelines (e.g. high-flow hotends). The values printed on the spool take priority.
Frequently asked questions
What temperature is right for PLA?
Usually 190–230 °C. The helper picks roughly the middle as a starting value; use a temperature tower to find the best value for your spool.
Why does speed change with the nozzle?
Maximum speed depends on volumetric flow. Larger nozzles with thicker layers move more material per second, so the speed per line drops.
Do the values apply to every printer?
No, they are guidelines. Bambu, Prusa, Creality and others have different hotends and extruders – use the values as a starting point and fine-tune.
Details per material are in our material guides.
