How an image becomes a 3D model
Lithophane: A photo becomes a thin plate. Dark areas turn thick and let little light through, light areas are thin and glow. Print it upright in white, ideally with 0.12–0.2 mm layer height, and put a light source behind it. The smooth side faces the viewer.
Relief: The brightness of the image becomes height – light is high, dark is low. This makes signs, coins, embossing or landscape reliefs from grayscale images and height maps.
Silhouette / Logo: A black-and-white image or a logo with a transparent background becomes a solid with the height you choose. Optionally it gets a hanging loop – ideal for keychains, cookie cutters and stands.
Everything runs in your browser: the image is not uploaded. The models are watertight (closed solids) and open directly in Bambu Studio, OrcaSlicer, PrusaSlicer or Cura.

Is my image uploaded?
No. The image is processed only in your browser. No data is sent to a server.
Which image works for a lithophane?
Photos with good contrast and clear faces or subjects. Use “Contrast” and “Smoothing” to bring out detail. A higher resolution gives finer gradients but a bigger file.
How do I print a lithophane?
Standing upright, with white PLA, 0.12–0.2 mm layer height, 100% infill and few walls. The “light” thickness sets how much light passes through – 0.8 mm is a good starting value.
How do I get a clean silhouette?
Use an image with clear contrast or a PNG with a transparent background. The threshold sets from which brightness something becomes part of the solid; “Invert” swaps solid and background.
Why are high-resolution files large?
Every pixel becomes two triangles. “Standard” is enough for most models, “Very fine” pays off for photos as lithophanes.
